Privacy policy

Effective date: 2026-11-01 · 2026-11-01-v1

NextWorksStudio operates SalamKo. This policy explains the information used when you access the app, website and support, and how to make a privacy request.

1. Operator and contact

Operator and privacy contact: NextWorksStudio. For privacy and account requests, email nextworksstudio@gmail.com or use private inquiries in My page.

We may need to verify account ownership for privacy requests. Do not send passwords or verification codes.

2. Registration and account information

Our authentication service processes account identifiers and email information supplied during Google or Apple sign-in. Google may also supply profile information such as your name and profile photo. Apple Hide My Email may supply a relay email address. SalamKo does not receive your Google or Apple password.

We use member identifiers, nickname, country of residence and stay type, region for residents of Korea, accepted document versions and age confirmation to create and manage accounts, provide features and address misuse. Bio, profile photo and country of origin are optional and processed if you provide them.

Information necessary for member features is processed to enter into and perform the service agreement. Optional information is processed only when you provide it or choose the relevant feature.

Registration is for people aged 14 or older. We ask you to confirm that you meet this age requirement; we do not ask for your date of birth or an identity document at registration. Contact support if you become aware of an account belonging to someone under 14.

3. Content and activity

We process posts, comments, photos, place proposals, reports, blocks, saved items, likes and inquiries to provide and operate those features. Servers and service providers may process technical information such as connection addresses, requests and errors while handling service requests.

Posts, comments, photos and public profile information are visible to other people who can access those screens. The current public author information includes your nickname, profile photo and a Korea residence badge derived from residence information. Country of origin, bio, residence region and stay type are not included in public author information.

Reports, your block list and private support inquiries are not public posts. Operators may review information needed to respond to reports or inquiries and protect the service. Check the audience before posting contact details or sensitive information about yourself or others, including health or religious information.

4. Location

Location permission is optional. When you request the current-location feature while using the app, we use your device location to find nearby places or show it on the map. Your current location and displayed area may be sent to the map provider and nearby-place search service.

SalamKo does not provide a feature that stores your travel route or continuous location history. You can choose an area and search without granting location permission. Your prayer area is selected manually and does not automatically change with your current location.

5. Photo and notification permissions

Use the device photo picker to select an image for a profile, post or place proposal. The current app does not request camera permission. Selected photos are uploaded and resized or converted for display in the service.

Notification permission is used for available features such as prayer reminders you select. You can still view prayer times without notifications. Manage location, photo access and notification permissions in your device settings. Revoking a permission does not automatically delete photos or posts already uploaded.

6. External service providers

SalamKo uses Firebase Authentication and Google or Apple for sign-in, Supabase for data storage, Cloudflare for service requests and image processing and delivery, NAVER Maps for maps, and VWorld for place and address searches. Place and address search terms are sent to the search provider to retrieve results. Email inquiries are received through Gmail. These services may process information needed for their functions.

Opening directions in an external map app or website sends information such as the selected place to that service. Its privacy policy applies to subsequent use. Social sign-in providers also process information under their own privacy policies.

7. Processing outside Korea

The member and community database is stored in Seoul, South Korea. External services used for sign-in, service operation and photo storage process some information outside Korea.

Google’s Firebase Authentication processes sign-in identifiers and authentication information in the United States. Cloudflare, Inc. is a US-based provider that processes service requests, connection information and uploaded photos through its global network and storage. The photo storage uses an Asia-Pacific location setting; the specific storage country has not been confirmed.

Information is sent over encrypted connections when you sign in, use the service or upload photos, for authentication, service delivery, security, and photo storage and delivery. SalamKo’s retention and deletion rules are in section 8; provider logs and backups may follow separate rules. Provider information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy · https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ (Cloudflare privacy contact: dpo@cloudflare.com).

Supabase Pte. Ltd. stores the member and community database in Seoul. Support and operational information may be processed outside Korea, including Singapore and the United States, and operational logs in Europe. Contact: privacy@supabase.com. Gmail support messages are processed on Google LLC’s global servers and deleted after the inquiry is resolved. Google privacy information: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. Processing and storage entrusted to overseas providers are used as necessary to enter into and perform the service agreement.

To decline processing outside Korea, stop using the relevant features or request account deletion or restriction of processing at nextworksstudio@gmail.com. Declining processing necessary for the service limits related features, including sign-in.

8. Retention and deletion

Account, profile, residence information and consent records are retained until account deletion. Posts, comments and photos are retained until the content or account is deleted. Saved items, likes and blocks are retained until removed or the account is deleted. In-app inquiries and replies are retained until account deletion so you can access your support history. Request account deletion in My page or by emailing nextworksstudio@gmail.com. You do not need to reinstall the app to request deletion by email.

When an in-app deletion request is accepted, member access is blocked and deletion of the sign-in account and related data begins. Profile and residence information, posts, comments, photos, saved items, blocks, inquiries and related account data are subject to follow-up cleanup. Acceptance of a request and completion of all deletion are separate steps. Your Google or Apple account itself is not deleted.

Support emails are retained until the inquiry or privacy request is resolved and then deleted. If retention is required by law, the relevant information, legal basis and period are managed separately.

Data scheduled for deletion is removed through follow-up cleanup, with retries when external services fail. Content by other members and place or operational records with your account association removed are separate from your account deletion. Provider logs and backups may have separate retention and deletion rules. Contact support about deletion progress or particular information.

9. Access and privacy choices

Use available profile editing and account deletion features in My page, or email us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent. Contact us about making a request through an authorized representative if you cannot make it yourself.

We review requests after verifying identity. If a legal restriction or another applicable reason prevents fulfillment, we explain why. Stopping processing needed for an account may limit member features. Refusing optional information or permissions affects only features that need them.

10. Device storage and tracking

Sign-in state and preferences such as language and prayer area may be stored on your device or in your browser. You can manage these through browser cookie and storage controls or device settings. Clearing them may sign you out or reset preferences.

The current app does not include advertising, user behavior analytics or tools for advertising tracking across other apps or websites. External sign-in and map services also operate under their providers’ privacy policies.

11. Protection and policy updates

We protect information through measures including encrypted connections and access controls.

We will announce changes to this policy, such as information categories, purposes or providers, together with their effective date. We will obtain separate consent when required by law. Send privacy questions and requests to nextworksstudio@gmail.com.
